چکیده
teriovenous malformation was diagnosed 19 years earlierwhen seizures occurred. She was initially treated with carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital. A few years later a right hemiparesis developed, which subsequently improved with treatment. One year be¬ fore admission, again a progression of the hemiparesis was noticed. Otherwise, the patient's medical history did not disclose any other abnormalities. At the time of admission, the patient was in good health. The vital signs were normal. The physical examination of the chest was within normal limits. Except for a partial right hemiparesis the other physical findings were normal. All the laboratory data were within normal limits. The ECG was noncontributory. A posteroante¬ rior chest roentgenogram disclosed randomly distrib¬ uted, equally sized spheres (1 mm in diameter) of metallic density throughout both lungs (Fig 1).

Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation Surgery in a Pregnant Woman: A Case Report
Background and purpose: Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) are lung lesions that affect most of the periphery of the lower lobes, and are manifested by dyspnea, hemoptysis, and hemothorax. Pregnancy is one of the conditions in which these malformations appear due to hemodynamic changes and hormonal factors such as increased levels of estrogen. This paper presents the case of a pregna...
متن کاملSurgical Treatment of Idiopathic Multiple Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation Identified at the Onset of Cerebral Infarction: A Case Report
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM), which is asymptomatic in most cases, is often identified in patients with central nervous system disorders such as brain abscesses and/or cerebral infarctions. We have reported a patient with idiopathic multiple PAVM identified at the onset of cerebral infarction. A 69-year-old woman visited the Department of Neuropathic Internal Medicine at our hosp...
متن کاملDiffuse Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation in Children: Essential Value of Contrast Echocardiography in Diagnosis
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) are abnormal communications between pulmonary arteries and pulmonary veins, and most commonly congenital in nature. Although rare, it is an important consideration in cyanotic patients of unknown cause. We report 3 cases with diffuse PAVM in children with different clinical manifestations and initial diagnosis was made by transthoracic contrast echoc...
متن کاملSimulation study of Hemodynamic in Bifurcations for Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation using Electrical Analogy
Background and Objective: Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation (CAVM) hemodynamic is disease condition, results changes in the flow and pressure level in cerebral blood vessels. Measuring flow and pressure without catheter intervention along the vessel is big challenge due to vessel bifurcations/complex bifurcations in Arteriovenous Malformation patients. The vessel geometry in CAVM patients are...
متن کاملHereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia patient presenting with brain abscess due to silent pulmonary arteriovenous malformation
Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia is a rare autosomal dominant inherited disease that is usually complicated by visceral vascular malformations. Patients harboring such malformations are at increased risk of brain abscess formation, which despite advances in diagnostic and surgical methods remains a life threatening medical emergency with high mortality and morbidity rates. In the present r...
